Groovy
Groovy Dead at it's finest. When I start to feel as sedated as they sound, I know it's a good show. I love the tempo even though I typically cringe when

first hearing a slow show since it's usually followed by a musical mess. This, however, holds together brilliantly. The LLR is simply outstanding despite some of the sloppy playing prevalent throughout the beginning of the show. LL/S show signs of great things to soon come for the duo. The set finishes strong though with a decent one off Scarlet though Donna somehow manages to step all over it. Seriously, she sounds like Kristen Wiig doing "Target Lady" on SNL. "There's a sale on tampons- Oh boy! At least the LLR made up for it in advance and redeemed with Crazy Fingers. Lastly Dancin is top notch. It comes close to spring 77' versions and in some ways better due to this feeling like it was being created rather than performed. Second set is just primo Dead. The Crazy Finger outro is a glorious birth into Wharf Rat. These two songs lend themselves for a slower tempo and they are captured perfectly. Well, that's as far as I've gotten so far. I just couldn't wait to rave about another outstanding sounding Matrix by Hunter Seamons. Mad props Hunter. The mix is a bit bass heavy, but at least Phil's unreal licks are captured well.

the Way/Slipknot/Franklins Tower. They seem to just casually bop into Help-almost chugging along and then go into an awesome Slipknot and a purely golden Franklins. Put a big smile on this face-very nice sound. That '76 tour is underrated. I know this first-hand from being at some of 76 shows. At the time, I thought many of the shows were way too mellow, but hearing them again, I see how beautifully most everything was played. Some mind-blowing, lovely versions of songs that were later to become more experimental jamming and developed and pushed even further in the classic year 1977.

What's also funny is that after that remark the other guy says, "Is that on the tape?" Ha! Good times.

here. By 90s standards, or even some 80s shows, this could have easily constituted a full two complete shows (or 12 Beatles concerts--no knock intended but they were short). The energy required for such a gig is dumbfounding to me, especially as I sit on my lazy butt at work all day listening. I need to go for a run!

Great mix for a very quality performance. Donna should thank you Hunter Seamons, she sounds great... not overly in your face and very clear sounding.
